When Felius’ rescue is at capacity (or when a cat isn’t the right fit for our space) we offer once-monthly Courtesy Re-homing Social Posts to help connect current pet owners with potential adopters in the community. Learn more about this program below.

Owner/caregiver submits a post request to Felius.
Felius reviews to determine program eligibility.
Approved cat(s) are shared in a monthly social media post with owner contact info and on this landing page.
Interested adopters contact owner/caregiver directly.
The owner/caregiver manages all screenings, meet-and-greets, and adoption arrangements.

Eligibility checklist

To be eligible for a Courtesy Re-homing Post, the following requirements must be met:

☐ The submitter is the cat’s legal owner or the cat(s) has been reasonably determined to be abandoned. Reasonable efforts have been made to locate an owner if the cat was found (e.g., posting on lost pet social media pages and checking for a microchip).

☐ The cat(s) is currently safe, housed, and under the care of the submitter or designated caregiver.

☐ The submitter is willing to communicate directly with potential adopters and manage all aspects of the rehoming process.

☐ The submitter understands that Felius does not assume responsibility for the cat(s) at any time.

☐ All information provided about the cat(s) (health, behavior, history) is accurate to the best of the submitter’s knowledge.

Meeting these criteria does not guarantee that a courtesy post will be approved, but helps ensure the program is used responsibly and in the best interest of the cat.

Felius does not accept or post outdoor or community cats through this program. Courtesy rehoming posts are provided for informational purposes only, and cats shared through this program are not owned, housed, fostered, or cared for by Felius at any time. Felius assumes no responsibility or liability for the cat’s health, behavior, safety, or placement. Felius does not collect adoption or rehoming fees for courtesy posts; any rehoming fee is determined, collected, and managed solely by the current owner or caregiver.
