If you've got a knack for working with cats and a genuine passion for rescue, this position is for you!

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure cat welfare by prioritizing cleanliness (i.e. washing bedding, litter box care, disinfecting surfaces).

• Ensure guests follow all cat playroom rules. Identify and calmly diffuse negative cat or human interactions.

• Socialize cats through play, positive reinforcement, and regular grooming.

• Assist with feeding, watering, and medication administration.

• Track and immediately report any cat behavioral or health concerns.

• Monitor transition kennels to ensure stress-free introductions.

• Track cats entering/exiting the playroom, including checking microchips.

• Educate guests on proper cat care, pet introductions, and the importance of rescue.

• Restock supplies.

• Assist with special cafe events (i.e. quiz nights, clinics, workshops, pop-ups, etc).

• Assist with Monday shelter deep-clean.

• May be asked to transport cats to vetting appointments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 19+ to work with animals in the state of Nebraska.

• Cat-related experience required (i.e. shelter volunteer, rescue volunteer, fostering, pet ownership, etc).

• Excellent communication and customer service skills. 

• Detail-oriented, always noticing the little things and acting on them.

• Tech-savvy, quick to learn adoption software.

• Bonus for 'Fear Free Shelter' certification.

• Willingness to cross-train as a 'Guest Experience Coordinator' is a huge plus!
