Cat Care Coordinator + Barista Cross Training

Starting at $17/hour + tips

Felius is seeking an experienced Barista (please do not apply without any experience) AND someone with a deep love for cats to join our team! In this role, you’ll serve delicious drinks, create an exceptional guest experience, and help keep our cat playroom sparkling clean, especially during Monday deep cleans. We are crossi training this role to help in both the coffee shop and cat playroom.

Coffee Bar Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in guests for cat playroom sessions and events, and review house rules.

  • Make and serve beverages, take orders, answer phone calls, and provide excellent customer service.

  • Educate guests about our mission, proper cat care, pet introductions, and the importance of rescue.

  • Keep a clean and tidy cafe space at all times.

Cat Care Key Responsibilities

  • Keep the playroom clean for cat welfare: wash bedding, care for litter boxes, and disinfect surfaces.

  • Make sure guests follow playroom rules, and calmly defuse negative cat or human interactions.

  • Socialize cats through play, positive reinforcement, and regular grooming.

  • Help with feeding, watering, and giving medication.

  • Track and immediately report any cat behavior or health concerns.

  • Monitor transition kennels so introductions are stress-free.

  • Track cats entering and exiting the playroom, including checking microchips.

  • Restock supplies and keep the space clean and organized.

  • Assist with the Monday shelter deep clean (not required every Monday).

  • May be asked to transport cats to vet appointments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous barista experience required - must have experience working on an semi-automatic or manual espresso machine.

  • Previous experience with cats preferred (fostering, volunteer work, owing cats, etc).

  • Must be 19+ to work with animals and serve alcohol in Nebraska.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple guests during peak times.

  • Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn POS and reservation platforms.

  • Bonus: bartending experience and/or ServSafe certification.

  • Passion for animals and willingness to assist with cat care and playroom maintenance.
